Welcome to Delta Concert Band

Our Story

The Delta Concert Band, formed in October of 1964, is comprised of adult-aged amateur musicians from all over the lower mainland of British Columbia.   From September through July, we rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 7:30-10:00 pm at Seaquam Secondary School in North Delta.   Our repertoire includes a wide range of music mostly at the Grade 3 to 5 level.   Concerts in recent years include: Delta parks summer shows, the Ladner Bandfest, a Delta Special Olympics fundraiser, the Boundary Bay Airshow, St John Ambulance Annual Inspection, and collaborations with the Delta Choral Society and the Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir.

We also strive to support school band programs by sharing the stage at concerts, coaching band students, and providing an annual bursary to a graduating student of the Delta School District who will be pursuing a degree in either Music or Music Education.   Although many of our trips have been within B.C., we have traveled to Maui, Northern Europe, and most recently in June 2018 we were in Britain and participated in joint concerts with Newark and Sherwood Concert Band in Newark, Bede Winds in Gosforth, Callandar Choir in Callandar and the Neptune Band in Helensburg.    Jim Tempest has been our Music Director for over 10 years.

If you are interested in joining us, please contact us by emailinfo@deltaconcertband.ca . We welcome new players!
